"In my early twenties, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, PCOS and an autoimmune disease. At the time, I was exercising for about 2-3 hours a day as a personal trainer, my diet consisted of less than 1,000 calories and every single day my body was in a sympathetic dominant state. In just 4-days, I gained 20 lbs!!! My body was screaming to me. It needed a break and it needed to be healed from the inside-out. The only advice that I received from my doctor was to eat less and exercise more...as you can see this lead me to feeling absolutely lost and frustrated. I took matters into my own hands and began balancing my bodies systems; rebooting my nervous system, healing my gut, and balancing my hormones. I no longer believed in the "eat less, exercise more" model that has failed us and I became a Functional Medicine Practitioner. And now I have been able to support thousands of people in the past 10 years, who once believed they were weight loss resistant! "
